A Peep into Eyra's Class

Got some pictures from Eyra's teacher again. I think we, parents, really love our kids' teacher who delightedly share what our children do in class via pictures.

Yes, we have a KakaoTalk group.^^

so, this is the pic of our kids' (seemingly to be ) paper scarecrows... 

And a story-board of their own. They are free to express their stories, anything. I find it amusing that some of them were telling the same stories of watching the same movie: Turbo.

*The same goes for Eyra. Wow...as a kid who was previously never fully exposed to Korean language and its alphabet, Eyra seems to have developed in such away that she keeps up with her peer in class. 

The kids were having their creativity-time. 

They were free to develop anything out of simple stuffs... 

think think think... 

in fun and in style. 

Today's class was all about FUN. 

oh...not only today...but Everyday looks so fun in the class.

and that's what 'to learn' means, right? 

A Day before Summer Break @ Eyra's Class

July 19, 2013. The last day of school before summer vacation started. The kids collected their drawings and poems, then post them on the green board.  

Along with that, some of the group project like this one: combining color clay and drawing in a piece of paper. 

I don't know which one is Eyra's group's works of art.

As for the class activities, since it was the last day of school, they were having a performance of their own. Some did taekwondo, some do dancing, and ... 

As for Eyra and her best friend, Yebin, they were singing a song and reciting a poem.

Now...let's celebrate summer break, Eyra.

Good job, girl. You just finished the first semester of hyour 2nd grade.

Keep On Making Color Clay Works Every Mondays

These are the works of arts that Eyra makes every week on Mondays. She brings home different stuff every Monday. It turns out that she has a knack for color clay. 

For an 8 y.o. these kinds of stuffs really make me feel good about sending her to the color clay class. 

Of course, these are only a few of other countless color-clay arts she makes. First, I did not know what to do with these until I found a transparent glue-it-on-the-wall nail that we could just post on the wall. So, here they are!

COlor ClAy 방과후 학교

Since she 3 years old, back then in Indonesia, Eyra has been an avid lover of play-doh or color clay. So, it is  not surprising to see her choose 'color clay' as one of her extra curricular or after-class activities at 청량초등학교. Cheongryang Elementray School. These are what she made for the first five meetings.  

I think I got the point of what the purpose of this color-clay class: the students are taught to pay attention more on the details even to the smallest stuffs. Well, I guess that might be of help for the student's concentration skills. 

Then, on Xmas last year, the students were asked to create these lovely snowmen. What a cute little masterpiece it is. 

Not to mention, the one put on a frame like the family of chickens as displayed here. This year, too, she's signed up for the second term of this color clay after class activity. 

As a parent, I am glad that there are numerous activities that children could choose from...according to their taste and preference.

School Work Eyra's works

It was weekend and we just realized that Eyra got a homework from school she had to finish. She showed me a book entitled 즐거운 생확 ' Exciting Life' where kids learn to have the most of their time through activities as shown on the book. So, this week's theme is to make mask. Kids can choose to make any kinds of masks out of card box, shopping bags, papers, flour wrappings, or any other materials suitable to make masks. They could just imitate the ones shown on the book.

And..this is what Eyra made. Well, of course with my help. She insisted on making a flower. 

To prepare: we used a paper plate and cut some fancy papers and cut them in such a way so as to resemble the flowers.

It took us about 2 straight hours to make the one like this. 

She helped cutting the edges and putting them piece by piece until it was all finished.

Nice work, Eyra.
