부채춤 Fan Dance for UGM Delegation

We're invited to have a luncheon hosted by the Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-Do. 

and..one of the highlights for the delegation was..this particular dance..specially shown for the guests. 

Yes..I've seen many Korean fan dances..but I got to admit that this one was indeed splendid. 

what could be a better way to start a nice lunch than...being spoiled with a feast to the eyes? 

Like this. Yes, the soothing music that accompanied the dance..really brought us back into relaxation after a hectic day of meeting after meeting.!!!! 

Yes..the famous part of Korean fan dance: a circle-shaped fans. 

and now...let's dig into the lunch....though again I got to admit that being a vegetarian in a luncheon or any other banquet..really....sob! done me in.~~^^

but, did I enjoy it whatsoever? bet I DID.

Had a glimpse of former president Park Chung-hee's office in the display 

section of a museum dedicated to him. 

Got a glimpse of his birthplace before running back to the bus.

Yes..again and again..not enough time to do this and that. 

caught in the middle of a meeting between Indonesia-Korea delegation. 

My eyes got fixated on the snacks prepared on the table.

sorry..but that's what'd been bothering me....since I was so hungry. 

and..not many of the delegates touched the snacks.

#this has been a presentation by Suray....who took time to be on the road with the delegation from UGM visiting Gyeongsangbuk-Do.

Sorry..that I did not take much any stories on this blog. On purpose!

The Only Pictures I took from the Hotel

yup..a rather peculiar ornament that caught my attention in a cafe inside a hotel where I stayed in Daegu. 

We went home after ....well..3차...4차...gee...what a fulfilling night.... 

and...the day I got to check out of the hotel..I almost forgot that I still had some stuffs in the room.

and..rushed back to get them..and took a snap of this picture.

Ginseng-Filled Dishes

I guess..it was the first time for me to have ginseng-filled dishes on most of our meal on a daily basis.

Yep...we're having a dinner hosted by Yeungnam University.. 

and..this 한정식 or full set course on Korean dishes really distinguished itself from what I had before. 

none other than ..the cute and delicately prepared meal like the one I posted above..with ginseng in it. 

yup..wrapped in everything that is mostly new to me. 

I think I've encountered some or similar dishes like this. but this one's quite particularly a hard-to-resist delicacies. of course, simply because..they're mostly natural ingredients.: and a ginseng that goes with them

The next agenda: visiting Yeungnam University.

Having a lecture or listening to the lecture. 

Having a chance to meet and greet Indonesian students @ School of Park Chung Hee Public Policy and Saemaul Undong. Yes..I just knew about it. 

It turned out that there are at least 15 Indonesian students currently pursuing their Master's here. 

And..of course, some other students who just happened to be studying there, including some alumni from UGM.

First, meeting with foreign affair officers. 

an exchange of souvenirs. 

I was just plunging myself into the whole session each day..from day one. 

taking pictures ...I could do..at least. 

yes.there were 7 delegation from our university (Gadjah Mada University) who happened to be visiting Daegu. 

Luncheon done. 

then..off we went to Yeungnam University where we met the president of the university.

another token of friendship being delivered.

Freya's New Hair...

She's woken up early in the morning..smiling.

And I was ready to capture the smile. 

but then..as she rolled over...I just realized that she'd been sleeping with her hair done.

gee..she should've untangled it before going to bed...

The real snow's glowingly falling from the skies... 

accompanying us...on our way to another section of the fortress: the Haenggung or temporary palace...

wished I had more time to explore... 

and learned a thing or two...about the place.

We reached the..hmm..let's see..it's called...sue...jangdae...hmm..i f I'm not mistaken.

It's a post..and the highest post in the fortress.  

Story has it that ....hmm..no I won't write it down here. 

Back to the post where we came from. We're now going down the fortress..oh no...that?? 

Yes..in the midst of falling snow.... 

we kept on going down...the trails... 

going on and on... 

peeing onto the streaking branches of the barren trees... 

down and down... 

finally..reached the parking lot... 

and...ready to go home..but wait...not yet..
