That's the name, yep..Times Square. But, not the Times Square that most people would think of. Nor is it in New York --. But, this is another coined-name for one of the shopping mall in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul.
(oops, the picture above was not taken in the park, instead it was taken when we were still at Art Center in Dream Forest). Anyway..let me start with the story about the Times Square we went to the other day...
Where is the square or the park? Well, we should not have expected more of what to see and do right here. The name itself has a 'square' but the only park available was the one on the rooftop called 'Sky Park' which was literally a park under the sky on top of the mall. (this is the first glimpse of what we could do and see right her): walking through these white arched-typed tunnels made of steel...
One of the department stores (Shinsegae) was visible at the back of the lot. For information, the complex housed three famous Korean department stores.
Eyra and Freya were busy playing and running around the area. In fact there were nothing we could do there. But in the eyes of the children, this seemingly trivial place could just turn into a playground..^^ Oh, well.
They never stopped playing and chasing each other. I bet lots of office workers or company men and women spend their time during lunch on this roof top since there are some companies or branches that open their offices surrounding this area.
This is what I mean. I think people come and go to this rooftop park to take a rest or enjoying the surrounding from atop.
Since we just wanted to spend an afternoon with the kids without having to be hassled by the traffic, we might as well came onto the top and spend half an hour there. The kids loved it, though--thankfully.
For Mommy, it is another new place in Seoul to see and be seen in pictures. ^^
The weather being so nice and warm...a typical Autumn afternoo--which was exactly what we needed in the first place.
We spent some time here. (Oh, it was still Chuseok and lots of people were flocking into this area to spend some time)
At the back, some couples, families, and friends were also seen talking while sitting on the benches.
This is the venue that we loved to be. This is actually one of the few unique-looking sections of the square. If I am not mistaken, this is a wedding hall or some social-club house(?) or a convention hall at the square.
Freya and Eyra: take a pose...and ready....
Freya did not even change her pose while her sister just could not help making some faces to the camera...
Not even at the third take, Freya just did not care...she just stood still the way she was in the first place...
Finally, a near-perfect pose of the two^^
