First, Eyra was happy to show off here pink dolphin painting on her left-hand. She was having a great day at the library that day.
Second: Popcorn TIME. Yes...it was the day when the library and the Multicultural society in our neighborhood held an Autumn festival right in front of the Center--which means: on the pave-walk where people would just pass by and see what the commotion was all about.
I think she liked the popcorn being the most-sought after snack: I heard it was re-fill-able. ^^
A nice Autumn outing for the whole family and people.
Then..intermezzo for a split second: I was using the background to decorate my personal Google search engine. But, since the service terminated a few days ago, I got to make sure that I took a picture of it while it was still in service. Now..that page has gone. But, at least I still got some recollections of what it looked like when it was still in its heyday^^
It may be a bit unclear as to why I posted this picture. Well, I captured Eyra on the street when she was going back from school. See? Well, she is just right there....^^
I think I've posted this same picture on my previous entry. Anyhow...it was the time when we were on board the ITX train that transported us to Nami Island on some Autumn day.
Freya was so happy to be on the train again...especially a out of town-trip like this.
Both of them--Eyra and her sister--were excited of going on a train...
A glimpse of ITX on-board magazine. Just like the one usually served on passengers airline, right
Ah,,,,now I remember the name of the station where we got off...
It is Gapyeong station. 가평역. So...
for anyone interested of having a thought of going to Nami Island, please just take ITX train from Yongsan station or Cheongryangni station in Seoul that would take us to Nami island (Gapyeong station) for approximately 35 minutes. It cost about 4,000 Won (USS 4)/ single trip.
It saved time and energy.
and then....a walk to Nami island. Well, we could've taken the bus or shuttle bus or taxi..but it was fully jammed packed with cars, and any other imaginable vehicles..that someone at the tourist information center advised us to take a walk. AND we DID.
..waiting to board the Nami Maid: a funny and hard-to-forget name of a ferry that would transport us from the mainland to Nami island (an islet in the middle of a river).
Here we were at last. Nami Island...again.
This time: a beautiful Autumn 2012.
Well , there were so many...countless irresistible spots to take pictures...
"Are yo happy and excited, gals?" YEAAAHHHH (hope you were...)
"Daddy, can we just sit down on these leaves...they look so cool and I think they whispered me to touch them..." Ohhh come on...
yes...exactly what I had in mind.!!!!!
" I know what you want to do...!!!!!!"
First,....they showered their Mom with the leaves..
one...
two....
three....
four.....
five...
six.....
seven....
eight...
nice...I mean...nine...
ten!!!
evelen oops.I mean..eleven...
let's do it all again....!!!
하나
둘
셋
넷
다섯
Now..I have no idea what they were about to do next...but, wait....!!
They were about to start a leaves-war...!!
or no...just toss the leaves onto their head while screaming away...
While we were busy playing with the leaves...others were all just sitting or talking...^^ well, it was indeed a perfect day for an outing.
"You must be so hilariously excited, right, Eyra?"
Then..off we went to another section of the park. With a river just right on our side...we were trotting along the pathway....that would then lead us to-->
an open space like this. Imagine it being green....that would've been a great advantage.
Well, what do you expect? it was already Autumn...
I think I love this picture. Freya was --I didn't know--what she was doing..but it looked fun.
She was just trying to go underneath the branch...
While her sister wanted to touch the branch...
after all, the fallen leaves underneath the trees were marvelously glittering..
.to the eyes of the beholders.
They seemed to be endlessly full of energy...for us to keep up with.
Would we go over this meadow? Looks so vast....
Off the girls inside the pre-historic hut or some house made of straws...
"What do you think, gals?"
we continued on walking to another zone of the islet....-->
it looked like a small barge where we could try taking a cruise on a speedboat.
but we just skipped it..
and rushed ourselves to have lunch wait..it was dinner...^^
There was this open-space area where we could order --mostly--Korean menu for our dinner.
We prepared our own diner from home.
We just bought some beverages...while enjoying the festivity around us.
So much for the beverages. Instead of having juice, coffee, or tea..
they WANTED "ICE CREAM'
gosh....I SCREAMED.^^
Oh, I found a very captivating fact about this Jang-Gun Cafe which turned out to be selling or serving Sumatran coffee, especially the ones that originated from Gayo, Aceh in Sumatra island.
Well, of course, I did not try it. We were just busy eating.
What would a Nami Island Trip be without a pose along the street dotted with Sequoia trees.
But...before that, we found a love-shaped leaves arranged on the ground by someone who knows who...^^
a panoramic view of what it looked like there...
The last moment we took in Nami.
well, actually..there were other pictures...but....
on board the Nami maid ferry again that would take us to the mainland...
freya....what are you doing?
she was playing with her thumb....
We were now on board the ITX train again..taking us back to Seoul
Wait...this is the picture of Freya at home....before going to another festival...
Wait..these are what Eyra made out of color clay.
As if we were not tired of having the Nami Island trip, we went to Autumn festival,
the Seoul Lantern Festival 2012.
I wrote about it on my other entry, too.
The Giant Pineapple...and other tropical fruits...
A promotional lantern showing the 2013 Eco-Geo Expo in Korea.
The sky-scrappers as the backdrop of the Lantern festival imbued the modern-touch of the festivity.
A good experience of a night outing for Eyra, too..
Here is the number one reason why the kids loved being there.
Pororo,Eddy, Loopy, Krong, Poby...
*****-----*****
Now these are pictures that I took while I was at KBS Station
There was this art installation where colored peanuts like these ones were being displayed.
They represented or symbolized something. says here 자유 or freedom. I guess this is what these peanuts do symbolize then..."freedom"
in bigger size..they look like these.
Then..this is another story where I took Freya to well..I forgot where...but we had a social activity somewhere with my colleague who invited me to be there...
What could be more prosperous than....
gosh what am I rambling about..I mean what could be more exciting than watching Freya loved the day she was spending with me...
playing at a playground..to her heart content...
Again and again..
this is a picture showing the village bus or 마을버스 that takes us every time we go out. it is a commuter bus going back and forth serving as a feeder bus for the subway passengers.
These are what Eyra has been making in her paper-folding class.
She is good at it. I am sure. rest assured.
A random picture I took at Itaewon..oops what's that sign says?
a winter electric heater I saw on the market. we use one...though they say it would extensively increase our electricity consumption...oh well..
